NSW and VIC border crossing closures

Due to the COVID-19 border restrictions in place from Wednesday 8 July 2020 a number of bridge, ferry and border crossings across our area have been closed until further notice.

  • Tooleybuc Bridge - OPEN
  • Koraleigh-Nyah Bridge - OPEN (the bridge will open every day from 8am-4pm, although this looks likely to be extended to 7am-10pm. Otherwise detour via Swan Hill Bridge)
  • Speewa Ferry - CLOSED (detour via Swan Hill Bridge)
  • Swan Hill Bridge - OPEN
  • Gonn-Murrabit Bridge - OPEN (every day from 8am-4pm only. Otherwise detour via Barham Bridge)
  • Barham Bridge - OPEN
  • Echuca Moama Bridge - OPEN
  • Barmah Bridge - OPEN (to emergency services and local residents ONLY who have a permit. Otherwise detour via Echuca Moama Bridge)
  • George Chaffey Bridge – OPEN
  • Robinvale-Euston Bridge - OPEN
  • Abbotsford Bridge - OPEN
  • John Foord Bridge - CLOSED (will re-open from Monday, July 20 from 8am to 5pm each day. Otherwise detour via the Federation Bridge on All Saints Road and Federation Way)
  • Yarrawonga-Mulwala Bridge - OPEN
  • The Mulwala-Yarrawonga Weir crossing on Weir Road - CLOSED (detour via the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Bridge)
  • Wymah Ferry - OPEN (to local residents ONLY. Otherwise detour via Bethanga Bridge and Albury or via Jingellic)
  • Tintaldra Road border crossing - OPEN
  • Towong Road border crossing - CLOSED (detour via Jingellic Road border crossing or Bringenbrong Bridge/Alpine Way border crossing)
Police and other resources will be at the following locations to help you cross the border from Victoria into NSW as quickly as possible:
  • Wodonga Pl, South Albury
  • Hume Hwy, South Albury
  • Cobb Hwy, Moama
  • Newell Hwy, Tocumwal
  • Sturt Hwy, Buronga
  • Princes Hwy, Timbillica
  • Jingellic Road
  • Bringenbrong Bridge/Alpine Way, Bringenbrong
Please remember that delays are expected at the check points, so you should have your COVID-19 NSW border entry permit ready and allow extra time for travel.
