The name of this event is drawn from the title of Audre Lorde’s groundbreaking collection of essays and speeches. Her lyrical and perceptive writing engages with a range of issues, from the impacts of internalised racism on friendships between Black women, to the challenges of raising a son as a lesbian mother, to the importance of poetry in making change.
