Our response:

Regional Development Australia Murray (RDA Murray) is taking a leading role in conveying issues of economic, environmental and social importance to Hon. Nola Marino; Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories during the COVID-19 response period.

RDA Murray convened a Cross-border Joint Statement of Impact and Recommendations, championing 40 signatories’ prioritised recommendations to address NSW-VIC border closure impacts.

Edwina Hayes; CEO of RDA Murray has taken the proactive step to instigate a regular discussion forum of local leaders by forming and leading the Murray Socio Economic Activation Taskforce (MSEAT), to ensure that issues of importance from across the vast geographical expanse of the Murray Region are accurately conveyed to the Federal Government through National Cabinet meetings. Information gathered from leaders in the Murray region have directly contributed to at least 15 new Australian Government policies responding to Covid-19.
