What We're Looking For
We want to see the region through your eyes. From Albury to Wentworth, Snowy Valleys to Balranald, this competition is all about capturing the character, colour and everyday magic of life in our part of the world.
Your photos might feature:
- Local events and celebrations
- Working life on the land or in town
- Natural beauty and seasonal change
- Community connections and candid moments
If it feels like “our place”, it belongs here.
Who Can Enter
This competition is open to residents of the region across NSW and Victoria, although photos must be taken within the RDA Murray catchment which includes the following LGAs:
AlburyCity, Balranald, Berrigan, Edward River, Federation, Greater Hume, Murray River, Snowy Valleys and Wentworth.
All ages and all skill levels are welcome—whether you’re a professional photographer or just snapped a great moment on your phone.
Entry Details
- Submit up to four high-resolution JPEG images(300 dpi preferred)
- Include a short description of each photo and how it reflects the theme
- Complete your entry using the official online form on this page
- Entries close Sunday 7 September.

Terms & Conditions
Promoter
- The promoter of this competition is Regional Development Australia Murray (ABN 14 980 981 822).
Eligibility
- Entry is open to residents of Victoria and NSW. Photos must be taken from with RDA Murray catchment, which includes the following local government areas: AlburyCity, Balranald Shire, Berrigan Shire, Edward River Shire, Federation Council, Greater Hume Shire, Murray River Council, Snowy Valleys Council, and Wentworth Shire.
- Images must be captured within one of these LGAs. Entries depicting locations outside this region will not be considered.
- AI-generated or heavily manipulated composite images are not eligible for entry. All submissions must be the original work of the entrant and primarily captured using a camera (including smartphones). Minor editing (e.g. cropping, exposure, contrast) is permitted.
Entry Requirements
- Each entrant may submit up to four (4) high-resolution images.
- Each entry must comply with these Terms and Conditions.
- By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- The competition opens on Wednesday 23 July 2025 and closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 7 September 2025. Late entries will not be accepted.
Copyright and Usage
- All copyright remains with the photographer/entrant.
- By entering the competition, entrants grant Regional Development Australia Murray a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use their images for not-for-profit promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use on websites, social media channels, printed materials, reports, and media publications.
- Where possible, images will be credited to the photographer; however, RDA Murray cannot guarantee that credits will always be published, particularly in third-party media.
- Entrants will not receive compensation for the use of submitted images.
Consent and Permissions
- Entrants are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions from any identifiable individuals featured in their photographs. By submitting such images, the entrant confirms that consent has been obtained.
Judging and Prizes
- Entries will be judged based on their creativity, quality, and ability to encapsulate the theme “This is Our Place”.
- Prizes will be awarded across the following age categories: Mini (10 and under), Junior (18 and under), and Open (18+).
- The judges’ decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into.
- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- The distribution of prizes is at the sole discretion of RDA Murray.
Winner Notification
- Winners will be notified by email in September 2025 and announced on RDA Murray’s social media platforms.
