The Murray region is well positioned to lead regional transformation. That positioning rests on a series of fundamentals: the energy systems that power economic prosperity, the agricultural capacity that anchors productivity, the pressure points that push innovation, and the workforce that determines what’s possible. Understanding how these interact – where they’re strong, where they’re stretched, where opportunity sits – is the foundation for any serious conversation about the region’s future.

Dashboards help making those fundamentals visible. They show what’s here, what’s shifting, and where systems are under pressure.

A series of topics emerged from the Regional Futures Forum as the threads that connect everything else. When you pull any one, the others move. The dashboards that we present on these pages create opportunities for conversation – for industry to see what policy makers see, for communities to challenge assumptions, for everyone to look at the same data through different lenses. They’re the start of that conversation, inviting reflection on what this means, what comes next, and what other data we need to see the full picture.

So, rather than only presenting data in a dashboard, we look to include a narrative that helps the interpretation, giving context and meaning. In doing so, they become Chapters, and speak to the opportunities, capacity, and capabilities already present in the Murray region, or ready to be leveraged.
