Regional Development Australia Murray (RDA Murray) would like to announce the appointment of Peter Alexander to the RDA Murray Board.
Peter brings more than 20 years of experience as an executive at both a national and international level. Most notably, Peter’s work with Polaris Industries, (New York stock Exchange Listed & Fortune 500 Company) over a 16-year tenure. Peter was Vice President and also held the office of Managing Director of the Australian & New Zealand subsidiaries. Peter led Polaris to be the #1 Off Road Vehicle in Australia and worked extensively with the wider industry and State & Federal regulators in relation to OH&S matters associated with ATVs and Utility vehicles.
Peter has played a significant role in the global relaunch of Indian motorcycles and other Polaris portfolio companies such as Victory Motorcycles, Taylor-Dunn, GEM Electric Vehicles & Polaris Defense.
He brings experience in marketing, finance, business development and channel management to RDA Murray. Peter’s family history is in small business, and he has a great appreciation for issues facing family-owned businesses while also being able to understand the wide macro issues that face the wider economy.
Peter has wide experience at board level including as a Chairman of an ASX listed company and continues to assist local and international companies at advisory and board levels. His current role is the General Manager for Strategy & Growth at Mildura Rural City Council, and prior to that the Chief Executive Officer with Mildura Regional Development. Peter and his family moved to Tropical North Victoria just under 3 years ago and resides in the Wentworth Shire Council. He’s still learning everyday about the region and is passionate about regional economic development.
As the latest board member to join from the Sunraysia region, Peters appointment ensures that voices from the western reaches of RDA Murray’s service area are being heard.
